Borzalmas :D

Hozzávalók:
150 gr tejcsoki
100 gr mogyoróvaj

Elkészítés:
Temperálom a tejcsokit, majd a formába töltöm. Kirázom a felesleget, fejjel lefelé hagyom kicsepegni a maradékot is. Ezután berakom a hűtőbe, és megvárom, míg a csokicsészék megszilárdulnak. Akkor kirázom őket a formából. Mogyoróvajat kanalazok a habzsákba, és megtöltöm a csészéket.

arrrgh!!

I'm over a massive week. Which, actually, was one of the highlights of this year from many aspects. We've been organising an event, which - besides being very tiring - proved to be recharging as well. I got to know many new people - which, for me, is always like opening a treasure box. In some of them there are lovely knick-knacks, in others colourful paper flowers or nicely arranged pebbles. But sometimes, quite rarely, gold is shining from under the lid of the treasure box - someone with whom you're on the same wavelength and who'll enrich your life. This time I was lucky. And during a ca. 3-min long conversation he solved one of the big dilemmas of my life.
Once upon a time in school during an English class we took a personality test, just for the sake of fun. My result was INFP (if you're interested in this test, take a look here) (update: I took the test again and the result is the same :D), of which I=introvert. However, only one point, and my result would've been E=extrovert. This duality has been there throughout my life and I never quite understood it. According to my introverted friends I have loads of friends - but I can have meaningful discussions only with a select few. While socialising, I can't wait for my "me time" when finally I can be at home alone and listen to music and write; but many times when that happens, I feel like loneliness is choking and I immediately write to some of my friends. Sometimes in the middle of a party I suddenly feel depressed and I'd rather escape. If you find these symptoms familiar, don't worry - as I got to know from this new friend (who, if he'll ever read this, will be quite pleased with himself that he could teach something new to an ignorant Hungarian :P :D), this phenomenon is called "extroverted introvert" and after a quick search you'll realise that you're not alone. But maybe they just wanted to put ideology behind eccentric personality XD
After the busy week yesterday I had time to make chocolate. Americans have this good habit that they make everything terribly sweet, including chocolate. They invented milk(!!!) chocolate filled with peanut butter, which is like you eat a bite and you can't open your mouth anymore XD but since my sis bought a jar of peanut butter, I was forced to prepare the chocolate and then of course to eat it up. It's horrible :D

Ingredients:
150 gr milk chocolate
100 gr peanut butter

Recipe:
I temper the milk chocolate, then I pour it in the mould. I get rid of the excess and I leave it to drip. I put it in the fridge until the chocolate cups get solid. I shake them out of the mould, I put peanut butter in the pastry bag and fill the cups.

colors of love

Hozzáöntöm a tejszínt, adok hozzá a rózsalekvárból, végül a fél kardamom mozsárban összetört magvait is beleöntöm.

Számtalan fiatal próbálkozott, lehunyt szemmel illették a szobor kőajkait, ám egyikük sem járt sikerrel.
A másnap alkonya ismét ott találta néhány lépésnyire a szobortól.
Szemerkélő eső mosta szürkévé a világot. A folyó megáradt, kiöntött medréből, feláztatta a fűcsombékokat. Apró patakokban ömlött lefelé a hegyoldalról az esővíz, benne mezítláb szaladt a lány, ruhája átázott, és a testére tapadt. Megfordult, nevetett. Ekkor ért oda a férfi, összeölelkeztek.
- Hogy világít a szemed ebben a szürke világban! – mondta a lány.
A férfi megcsókolta. – Gyere velem!
A lány megrázta a fejét.
Mióta enyelegsz másokkal a fiam háta mögött?
A hang hallatán a pár szétrebbent.
– Halljam! Ki ez a senkiházi? – a fekete ruhás nő fenyegetően lépett előrébb.
- Én… ő… – a lányt megcsalták a szavak.
– a nő felemelte kezeit.
Feltámadt a szél; nehéz, párás, forró levegő, és ahogy a lány szeretője felé szaladt segítségért kiáltva, tüdeje megtelt vele, szétáradt tagjaiban. Mielőtt lehunyta elnehezült szemhéját, a férfi sötétzöld szemeit látta maga előtt.
- A szobor! – hallatszott a háta mögül, kíváncsi emberek gyűltek köréjük.
- Gyere!

Ohhh another really-real fairytale project! This song has been in my ear for such a long time, I've been listening to it so many times in these last days (days? rather weeks) that I knew I'd have to make a chocolate about it. It reminded me of an old-old tale, which matches it.
Naturally this is a melody of the genious Thomas Bergersen; the "lyrics" are those of a Bulgarian folk song about St George's day, a spring love song. The challenge was not so much the ouside of the chocolate, rather the inside. How does love taste? I tried to avoid the usual, banal combinations such as chocolate with chili, and finally I chose three key ingredients. It is quite obvious why two of them are connected to love: rose is the flower of lovers, fig is the symbol of fertility and femininity. The third significant component is cardamom, whose aromatic, smoky flavour made the composition even more special.

Ingredients:
50 gr fig
20 gr cream
40 gr rose jam
30 gr dark chocolate
half cardamom
200 gr white chocolate
cocoa butter, luster dust

Recipe:
I cut the figs into pieces and I blend them. I pour the cream in it, I add the rose jam and finally the crushed seeds of the cardamom. It becomes a nice, pink mixture and if you taste it, the flavours of all three ingredients can be felt harmoniously. Therefore I mixed it with only 30 gr of molten dark chocolate.
Above candle light I melt a teaspoon of cocoa butter, I add yellow luster dust, with which then I paint stripes or patterns in the hemisphere shaped cavities of the mould. I do the same with blue and red luster dust and from their mixtures, I make green, orange and purple colours so the chocolate globes will get even more colourful. Some stripes are painted above others, or merged. I put the mould in the fridge for some minutes, then I temper the white chocolate and I create the chocolate shells. After the chocolate gets solid in the fridge, I tap the mould and take the shells out of it. I fill them with the cream, then I smear molten white chocolate on the brims and I stick the two halves together.

It was believed that if someone kisses the statue with true love, he wins the girl's heart and finally she wakes up from her centuries-long sleep. Countless young man tried their luck, they kissed the stone lips of the statue with closed eyes, but none was successful. The stone girl was just standing with her arms spread, in her windtorn dress; her black stone hair floated in the wind that had blown centuries ago, when her warm heart turned into granite. Frost, summer heat, pouring rain, wild wind could come, the statue stood steadily and waited for its saviour. Neither the weather, nor the passing days could corrode it; it did not crack or deteriorate. The villagers passed by respectfully while going to their lands or visiting their relatives. The little boys heard first the tale of the girl who had turned to stone, therefore when they grew up, they all fell in love with her and all of them tried to bring her back to life. The little girls were frequently sitting at the foot of the statue, guessing how she might have looked in reality and playing hide-and-seek among the pleats of her dress.
One early spring day two strangers arrived in the village. They found lodging at the blacksmith's and soon the tidings spread about the man being the heir of the throne of a faraway kingdom and his daughter being born from the woman he had secretly loved. However, being a commoner, he could not marry her. Then the woman had left him and the king, being ashamed, had expelled his son together with the child.
Whether it was true or not, the stranger, who was working for the blacksmith, was named prince by the villagers. From then on they saw him day by day going to the land of the blacksmith with his daughter, in order to work on it for his daily bread. Not much time passed until the prince learnt about the story of the girl who had turned to stone. And one evening, while going back home, he sat down in front of the statue, he was watching it while his child was playing with the windtorn skirt of the stone girl. The next dusk found him there, sitting a few steps away from the statue. He was sitting there also on the third day and then every single evening, until the stars took half of their heavenly journey, for three months. And every single evening he absorbed a bit more of the mysterious story of the girl.
Sprinkling rain washed the world to grey. The river flooded, gushed out of its bed, it washed away tufts of grass. Rain water was pouring down on the hillside; the girl was running barefooted in it; her clothes soaked through and clung to her skin. She turned around and laughed. The man got there and they hugged.
"Your eyes are shining in this grey world," said the girl.
The man kissed her. "Come with me!"
The girl shook her head. "You know that this is not so simple... I need time. Wait a bit more, please!"
"I've been waiting too long. You love me, you should be with me. Leave him finally!"
"I know, you are right," sighed the girl. "I have never loved anyone like you and it frightens me. It is frightening and wonderful. But it is not easy to leave everything that was my life until now..."
"Yes, I suspected it! Since when have you been flirting with others behind my son's back?"
Hearing the voice, the couple jumped apart.
"Tell me, who is this rascal?" the woman in black threateningly stepped forward.
"I... he..." words eluded the girl.
"I knew you were not meant to be with him! How could he fall in love with such a despicable, lying woman! But I won't let you break his heart!" the woman lifted her hands.
The wind rose; heavy, humid, hot air, and as the girl was running to her lover, screaming for help, her lungs filled with it, it spread in her body. Before she closed her heavy eyelids, she saw the man's dark green eyes in front of her.
She looked up. Green like the dawn sky, like the stream running above mossy stones. Green eyes were looking back at her. She was standing under the evening sky, in the man's arms.
"The statue!" she heard from behind her; curious people gathered around them.
"Come!" said the man quietly, he took her hand and she went with him, she did not protest any more.

Na de most jöjjön a csoki :)

I know I've been praising Two steps from hell way too much but it's been slowly a year that they have been my daily bread and not a single day passes by without me listening to their music; and when I think I got fed up, then an album pops up that I haven't heard or they release a new one and I submerge or rather fly away into the dreamworld of new songs. Man's imagination cannot be restrained, I came to realise that in the last year, while my fairytale was just flowing and flowing together with the music. But now here comes the chocolate :)

Even though we bought the marzipan liqueur last year, I got to use it only now (better late than never), and naturally there couldn't be enough almond/marzipan ingredients stuffed into this bonbon. The result is a soft filling with intensive almond flavour, in fancy chocolate shell :)
Ingredients:
100 gr marzipan
20 gr cream
30 gr marzipan liqueur
3-4 drops of almond aroma
150 gr dark chocolate
transfer sheet

Recipe:
I chop up the marzipan and put it in the cream, I warm it up and stir it until the marzipan dissolves, then I add a few drops of almond aroma. Finally, when it cools down, I also add the liqueur.
I cut off a piece of the transfer sheet to fit in the magnetic mould. I temper the dark chocolate, pour it in the mould, then I shake out the excess. I put it aside until the shells become solid, then I fill them with marzipan cream. I put the mould in the fridge for some hours until the filling sets, then I temper the rest of the chocolate and I seal the bonbons.

őszi mesecsoki // autumn fairytale chocolate

"Október a temetés hónapja.

Minden élő készülődik a télre, a hideg napokra.

October is nature's funeral month. Nature glories in death more than in life. The month of departure is more beautiful than the month of coming - October than May. Every green thing loves to die in bright colors."
Henry Ward Beecher

The balance of light and darkness brings about the birthday of the Moon, the darker side of the year, the mysterious time of evanescence and rebirth. After all there is no ascension and resurrection without death and descending, the hero must fight the dragon of darkness before he returns to life. The Sun enters Libra, the sign of equilibrium; one of the four cornerstones of the year, in order to continue his journey towards the challenge.
The crops of summer are collected in barns and storerooms; the trees put on colourful dresses; the flowers fall asleep; the weather gets a bit colder every day and the mist-veil of winter flows out at dawn. The elves of nature store water and nutrients among the roots of the plants so they would have enough of them during the winter; even though the trees hibernate , they don't have leaves to collect sunshine. Grapes, apples, pears, pumpkins and nuts become ripe, the acorns of wisdom fall off the oak trees. Mushrooms spring forth from the leaf litter. Must and new wine are being produced, the first breads are being baked.
Every living being is getting ready for winter, for the cold days. The sky is still crystal blue but the rays of the Sun don't heat us up as much as during the summer; scarf and jacket are needed. In the evening the light of candles are lit in the windows; the time of love magic has arrived.

Álomfogó, tündérek, levelek, tollak csokiból

Hozzávalók:
150 gr tejcoski
200 gr fehércsoki
lüszterpor, kakaópor

Ingredients:
150 gr milk chocolate
200 gr white chocolate
luster dust, cocoa powder

A növényzetet szimbolizálja, valószínűleg eredetileg vegetatív istenség lehetett.

Yesterday the creative fever caught me and I started to make chocolate at 10 pm...
Dreamcatcher comes originally from the Ojibwe tribe of Native Americans, it is a charm against hex; usually it is made of willow, adorned with other magical ingredients, such as feathers. This time it is made of chocolate, the web depicts the sun and the moon :)
I prepared it together with the Green Man, who is depicted as a face peeping out of leaves. Many variations of the Green Man are spread in architecture, painting, sculpture; it can be found all around the world. It is a symbol of vegetation, originally it was probably a vegetative deity. It is the symbol of rebirth, in my case he peers out from among autumn leaves, based on this picture.

I plan the pictures; I draw them on parchment paper, which I place under another sheet of parchment paper. I temper the milk chocolate and I pour it in a piping bag - if you don't have a piping bag, you can make one of a nylon bag or you may fold one of parchment paper. The most important is to have a tiny little hole on the bottom, with which you can draw like with a pencil.

I draw the two pictures based on the template; I go through the thinner lines once more. In a plastic hemisphere I make lines from various angles until it becomes like a basket: this is going to be the rear side of the Green Man. When the chocolate gets dry, I colour the sun and the moon with gold and silver luster dust; the Green Man is surrounded by blueish-green leaves; his face is white. Finally I stick the face to the chocolate hemisphere.

A törzset olvasztott csokival rögzítettem a kalaphoz. A kész gomba kalapját egészen pici kakaóporral színeztem.
The autumn landscape wouldn't be the same without mushrooms and fallen leaves. I prepared the mushroom based on Ann Reardon's video; for the hat I used a small plastic cup. For the stems I rolled up a small piece of parchment paper and folded the end so the chocolate couldn't flow out; then I filled it. I fastened the stem to the hat with molten chocolate. I coloured the hat of the mushroom with a tiny bit of cocoa powder.

Végül egyszerűen lehúztam róluk a leveleket. Ezeket is lehet lüszterporral díszíteni.
Making chocolate leaves is not a difficult task: you only have to pay attention that you don't choose poisonous plants. I picked linden and chestnut leaves. I washed and dried them; then I painted their back side with tempered white chocolate. You may want to place them on something round while they get dry, so they'll have a nice curve. When the first layer have dried, I painted them once more so they wouldn't get broken. Finally I simply pulled off the leaves. These can be decorated with luster dust too.

The chocolate feathers were inspired by Ann Reardon too, but they are super easy to make: I pour a bit of chocolate on a parchment sheet, I fold the other side on it and I push it down gently until I get a feather shape. Then I pull the two sheets of paper apart and I let the chocolate set. I make the spine of the feather with a piping bag and I scratch the surface a bit with a sharp knife to get the texture. Finally I fixed three feathers to the dreamcatcher with some molten chocolate.

Most viszont mintha csak a nyár hagyta volna hátra a színes tollruhát: virágok nyíltak, zöldelltek a fák, a kertben termettek a zöldségek.
A sok szín, illat, a feltárulkozó ég, a télre készülődő föld, a madarak hangja megnyitja a lélek előtt ezt a titokzatos végtelent.

I didn't plan this bonbon but since I brought home lots of figs, I had to process them. Just like last year, in this year we had a second round of figs and this time I thought that I'd pair them with marzipan, after all the sweet, nice flavour of the figs would fit with almond, they would tame each other a bit :)
I spent the last weekend at lake Balaton - I can't say that I'm on good terms with autumn; I try to see its beauty, but I don't succeed on the grey-rainy days. This time, though, it seemed that summer had left her colourful feathers behind: flowers were blooming, the trees were green and vegetable was growing in the garden. And the walnuts! We picked walnuts from six trees, and we dried them in the sun. And we also had grapes, the wasps were humming around but frotunately they were kept away by the net.
Whenever I go to Balaton, the presence of nature gives life a meaning; there is time to think about and feel life after the busy workdays. The colours, scents, the open sky, the earth preparing for winter, the songs of birds open this mystical infinity for the soul.
In the evenings the sun sets behind the hills right in the middle of the points of the summer and winter solstice, after all the equinox was anoly a couple of days ago. And as I contemplate this, I can almost see that mighty celestial clock that turns from summer to winter in an endless cycle.

Ingredients:
50 gr fig (two smaller or one bigger)
70 gr marzipan
30 gr cream
150 gr dark chocolate

Recipe:

I cut the figs to pieces and blend them. I add the cream and the marzipan, also in little pieces. I warm them up until the marzipan melts, but it's not a problem if some small pieces remain.
I temper the dark chocolate, I pour it in the mould, then I get rid of the excess. I put it in the fridge until the chocolate cups get solid. Then I take them out of the mould and I fill them with marzipan cream.
